Oh sweet, sweet room
I spent the end of the week and most of the weekend moving. It took a lot of work, but thanks to the help of a whole list of people (Steve, Chris, Pat, David) it went reasonably quickly. So I’m all moved into my new room in McConnell Hall, and I really like it. In two days it’s already managed to be more friendly than the ARC was in the three weeks I was there. I feel so much better. I can’t even begin to tell you how nice it was to get a good night’s sleep for the first time in weeks.
I checked my student account, and thankfully, I’m only going to be out around $1400. Yes, it’s a lot of money. Yes, I’m worried. No, I’m not going to worry too much, I’m too busy sleeping on my mindlessly comfortable bed to notice. 
I think I really overestimated the value of money. Yes, you heard me say that. It has been so nice the last couple of days to just be able to walk over to the cafeteria when I’m hungry and get food. Plus my room, albeit a hair smaller, is 20000% nicer. And there are friendly people on my hall that I’ve eaten with. (Who would make a better Bond girl, Keanu Reeves or Sylvester Stallone?) Plus the showers aren’t small like steel coffins, our RA’s are awesome, and even the janitorial staff is friendly.
All in all, I’m really happy for the first time in about a month. Only a month, too, it seems more like about five years. Oh well.
So anyway, I will definitely get some stuff up here that’s reasonably useful sometime. Right now I’m still waiting for Resnet to remove their heads from their collective rectal cavity and fix my network connection. Until then, I remain silent, connectionless and really, really happy.
